Eigentlich sollte dieser Beitrag schon gestern abend im Blog erscheinen, doch der Metabolismus eines Babys muss sich scheinbar wirklich erst an feste Nahrung gewöhnen und so wurde es spät. Daher kommt der Artikel jetzt, als verspätete Samstagmorgen Leküre:
Ich gehe jetzt mal ganz frech nicht chronologisch vor, sondern erzähle einfach, was in der letzten Woche so los war.
Dank des langsam besser und wärmer werdenden Wetters konnten wir viel Zeit im Garten verbringen; der Mini-Kirschbaum blüht für seine Verhältnisse kräftig! Mal sehen, ob er dieses Jahr endlich auch mal Kirschen zu Ende produziert, oder ob es wieder nichts wird ;). Mit der Forsythienblüte konnte ich dann auch endlich feststellen, dass ich eine im Garten hab (und dank der Blüte den richtigen Zeitpunkt zum Rosenschneiden abpassen).
Inspiriert durch ein Patchwork-Magazin habe ich angefangen, einen neuen Beutel-Schnitt zu entwerfen und zu nähen. Basis ist der alte Drei-Selen Beutel, diesmal eben aber mit Patchwork in schwarz/weiß und Applikationen.
Ich versuche, mich nicht darüber zu ärgern, dass ich nur langsam voran komme, sondern alles gelassener zu sehen. Fällt nicht immer leicht, besonders, wenn man doch unbedingt möchte und auch noch der ein oder andere Auftrag auf Erledigung wartet. Aber es hilft nichts - Erik gibt das Tempo vor und ich folge brav, und das ja eigentlich auch gern, denn ein Lachen von diesem kleinen Wunder und alles ist einfach gut :)
Er hat vorgestern seinen allerersten Brei gegessen - Möhren (was sonst ;) ). Gestern war´s dann schon ein halbes Mini-Glas, natürlich inklusive sich alles überall hin schmieren und, obwohl ein Großteil des Breis geschluckt wird, kann man mit dem Rest ja noch prima damit rumspielen, ihn z.B. durch den Mund schieben, mit den Händchen zermatschen und durch die Lippen drücken.
Mein erster Nähanlauf der Woche entstand aus meiner eingenen Schusseligkeit heraus: Da ich eigentlich immer im Supermarkt vezweifelt nach meinem Einkaufswagen-Chip suche, habe ich die ersten 2 Versuche eines Täschchens genäht, das in Version A an den Schlüsselbund und in Version B an den Rückspiegel passt. Die Grundidee und das Konzept sind schon ganz gelungen, nur mit der Form bin ich noch nicht zufrieden, doch bis zum nächsten Generationentreffen der Brandts wird das verbessert. Immerhin hat meine Cousine schon ein solches Täschchen bestellt. Und irgendwie habe ich jetzt auch die irrsinnige Hoffnung, dass ich ab sofort immer einen Chip greifbar haben werde.
Im vergangenen Sommer hatten meine Schwiegermama und ich beim Besuch des Schloßparks Sansoucci ein paar Tomaten stibitzt, die dort in den Rabatten wuchsen. Wieso? Natürlich, um deren Geschmack zu testen und um ein paar Samen für den eigenen Garten zu gewinnen, denn diese Pflanzen waren klein, kompakt und allem Anschein nach wetterfest, was bei Tomaten ja nicht zu verachten ist, da sie auf Duschen sonst recht ungehalten reagieren.
Die Samen sind nun aufgegangen und ich bin mächtig gespannt, wie sie sich weiter entwickeln.
Die Hortensie habe ich übrigens vor dem sicheren Tod in Lidl´s Müllcontainern gerettet. Sie stand schon auf einem Wagen zum Abtransport, war vollkommen vertrocknet und bot einen erbarmungswürdigen Anblick. Für einen Euro konnte ich sie dann doch noch befreien "ick gloob aba nich, dass sie die wieder hinkriejen" sagte die Kassiererin noch... Doch getreu meiner Ikone Alys Fowler wollte ich ihr unbedingt eine Chance geben. Und Tada! sie lebt und scheint sich pudelwohl zu fühlen, was doch so ein gemütliches Bad im Eimer ausmachen kann :). Quasi meine gute Tat in floralen Dingen diese Woche!
Zu guter letzt im Rückblick: Babyklamotten. Erik wächst und wächst und ich komm mit dem aussortieren kaum hinterher. Jetzt, wo es wärmer wird, sind T-Shirts oft meine erste Wahl, doch unifarben waren sie mir viel zu langweilig. Also habe ich einige Tiermotive ausgedruckt und aufgebügelt, wobei streng darauf geachtet wurde, dass keines der Viecher seine natürliche Farbe hat: grüne Hasen, lila Eulen, blaue Biber und gelb-rote Rehe. Keine Ahnung, ob ich damit irgendeinem der unzähligen pädagogischen Ansätze folge; ich habe einfach das Gefühl, dass kräftige Farben sinnvoller sind, weil er sie besser sehen kann (wenn auch auf dem eigenen Shirt eher selten) und der langweilige Pastell-Farbenbrei hat mir eh noch nie gefallen.
Soweit der Wochenrückblick. Nun noch kurz in die Zukunft geschaut. Um mich selbst zu disziplinieren, regelmäßiger zu bloggen und um mein Talent im Fotografieren zu verbessern, habe ich beschlossen, dass es ab heute für eine Woche einen täglichen Blogpost geben wird. Ich nenne ihn daily 3x3, da ich mir vorgenommen habe, jeden Tag 9 gute Motive zu finden, Fotos zu machen und die dann zu posten. Man darf also gespannt sein. Zum Einstimmen, weil die Morgensonne hier grad so schön scheint und Erik neben mir auf der Couch schläft, gibts schon mal 2 Bildchen:

This blog post should have been online yesterday evening, but a baby´s metabolism indeed needs to get used to solid food, so it got late. So this post comes now, lets say as a late saturday morning reading:
I won´t go through it chronologically, instead I´d just tell, what happened during the last week.
Thanks to spring finally arriving we spent plenty of time in our tiny garden. The dwarft-cherry tree is, by his standards, in heavy bloom. We´ll see, if it also manages to produce fruits this year, not only dried out things like the 2 years before. When our forsythia florished I noticed its bare existance for the 1st time actually. Thanks to it, I so also knew it was time to cut the roses ;)
Inspired by a nice patchwork magazine I made a new bag pattern, based on my old "3 souls" bag, only with black and white patchwork and appliqués this time. I only make porgress very slowly and sometimes have hard times not to get upset about this, but to get more relaxed about it. Not that easy sometimes, especially, if you just want to get it done plus some customized orders are waiting, too. But I have to take care of Erik first of all, and I do with all my heart, and, at least, just a smile of this tiny wonder makes you feel that everything is ok and you just got the biggest reward ever.
Two days ago he had his 1st puree - carrots, of course ;). Yesterday he managed the half of a whole serving, of course inclouding smearing it everywhere and, despite the greater part found it´s way into his stomach, one can play so good with the soft and smeary stuff.
1st crafty attempt last week was born out of my weekly desperate search for coins to unlock the shopping cart in the supermarket. It´s allways the same, I´ve got plenty of these coins, but never only one appears when I need one. So I sewed the 1st 2 versions of tiny bags to cary such coins - verson A for keeping it on your bunch of keys and version B to hang it onyour rearview mirror. I´m quite ok with the idea and concept, only the shape is not to my complete satisfaction. I´ll sort it out till the next family meeting with my cousin, since she allready ordered on of the bags for herself. And, at the end I somewhat hope, that I will allways have a coin for my shoppingcart at hand from now on.
Last summer my mom in law an I snitched some tomatoes from the park borders of Palace Sansoucci. Why? Of course to taste if they are delicious and to get free seeds for our own gardens, because the tomato plants there were small, compact and seemed to be weather resistand, what, being a tomato, was a big plus, since they tend to get very annoyed by rain and showers. Now the seedlings grow and I wait eagerly if they will become as good as their parents.
The hydrangea by the way I rescued just from being thrown into a supermarkets trash container. It was all dried out and looked haertrending. Paying just 1 Euro I bought it, while the cashier just mumbled " I really doubt, that you can save it, sorry" But just as one of my all-time role models Alys Fowler I wanted to give it a shot and after a long and relaxing bath in a water bucket it came back to life and is florushing since then. You can say, this was my floral good deed this week.
At last in this recap: baby clothing. Erik keeps growing (Good! Would be bad if he wasn´t) and I think I only keep sorting out to small cloths and to get new, better fiting ones all the time. While it´s getting warmer, I often let him wear T-shirts, but the plain ones just were boring I thought. So I printed some forest animals out and ironed them on these boring plain shirts. I strictly avoided their natural colors, instead Erik now has shirts with green rabbits, purple owls, blue beavers and yellow and red deer printed on. Not sure, if this is one of the many educational schools a parent can follow, I just thought that bright colors he could see better (mayby not that much while wearing the shirt, but nevertheless ;) ) and on the other hand I simply don´t like the fade pastel shade, baby stuff often comes in.
So much for this weeks recap. Let´s peek in the nearest future for a second or two:
To get myself blogging much more often and on a better regular basis, plus to train my skills in photography I decided to come up with a week of daily posts, called daily 3x3. Thats because I will take 9 pictures every day from today till next saturday and will blog them here daily. This will be exciting and a new experience for me. And for a start, because the morning sun shines beautifully at the moment and Erik is sleeping right in front of me on the sofa, here we go with the 1st 2 attempts:
