Erste Leidenschaften & mal was Neues / First verves & Something new

Wir leben im Norden Berlins, was eine Begleiterscheinung mit sich bringt: Flugzeuge. Man kann sie zwischen den Dächern unserer Siedlung gut beobachten.

Und während ich noch wacker versuche, meinem Kind die schöne Natur und die Tierchen im Garten nahe zu bringen, stellt sich eines ganz klar heraus: Erik liebt Flugzeuge! Sobald er eines hört geht das Köpfchen nach oben, der Himmel wird akribisch aber blitzschnell abgesucht und mit einem lauten, begeisterten "DA!" wird angezeigt, wo der Flieger sich befindet. Oft genug schon musste ich, alt wie ich bin, erst zwei Mal ganz genau suchen, ehe ich ganz weit oben einen winzigen Flugzeugumriss ausmachen konnte - den mein 16 Monate alter Sohn sofort gesehen hatte...

We live in the north of Berlin, which has a side effect: we see a lot of air planes each day. One can see them flying quite good between the roofs of our estate.
And while I´m trying to teach my son all the bauty of nature and to show him the many little creatures in our garden, one thing I had to learn: Erik loves airplanes. As soon as he can hear one, his tiny head turns towards sky and he searches, very fast but with the utmost care, where the plane is. After just a few seconds, allways  a squirky, loud and keen "DA"(which means "there" in German) announces, he had found it. He seldomly fails. More than once I, old as I am, had to search long and several times for what turnd out to be a tiny little shape of a plane, far, far above in the sky - which my 16 months old boy had found in seconds!

 

Was lag also näher, als am Wochenende zu "unserem" Flughafen, nach Tegel, zu fahren, damit der kleine Hobby-Aeronaut mal sieht, wie diese komischen Vögel in echt aussehen. Ganz geheuer war ihm das am Anfang scheinbar nicht. Aber nach ein paar Starts und Landungen hatte er offenbar seine Begeisterung wieder und auch der Turbinenlärm, der auch auf der Aussichtsterrasse noch ordentlich war, konnte ihn nicht mehr beeindrucken (siehe Zwieback ;) ) Ich denke, das war ein gelungener Ausflug, wenn sich Erik vielleicht auch nicht daran erinnern wird; ich habe mir schon vorgenommen, das in 3 Jahren nochmal zu wiederholen, mit welchem Flughafen dann auch immer.

So we decided to visit the airport, Tegel airport, where all "our" planes come from or fly to, to show Erik how these strange birds look in reality. First it seemed to give him the creeps a little, but after a few landings and starts he was all exited about the planes and relaxed even enough to eat his bisquit, despie all the noise.
I think this was a funny and good trip, anyways, I allready decided we´ll do this again in about 3 years, when he´ll be bigegr and perhaps will remember it later.

Aber Erik ist ja nicht mehr lang allein.

Nummer 2, für den wir immer noch keinen Namen gefunden haben, macht sich, meist zu meiner Freude (außer Nachts) immer häufiger und kräftiger bemerkbar und so war es langsam an der Zeit, endlich auch mal etwas für ihn zu machen. Ihn? Oh, ja, er ist ein Junge :)

Als erstes habe ich eines meiner Caps für ihn gehäkelt - grau weiß gestreift, damit es zu möglichst Vielem passt. Die Wolle hatte ich noch in meiner Vorratskiste... also passt das Projekt auch zum Monats-Thema. Dazu passend wollte ich unbedingt eine Kapuzenjacke häkeln. Natürlich wieder etwas, das ich noch nie gemacht habe. Also habe ich mal gesucht:

But, Erik won´t be alone much longer.
N°2, for whom we still have not found a name, makes himself felt, most time to my absolut joy (but not at night) and gets stronger each day. So it was time to make something for him, too... Oh, didn´t I mention that? Yes, he´s a boy :)

First I crochet one of my stiped caps for him, grey and white, to fit most outfits. Whool I found in my stock, so this also works with this month´s challenge. Matching this hat I wanted to try a crochet hooded jacket, also with stripes. That´s something I never made before, so I started searching for patterns online. Auf Ravelry, einer wirklich riesigen Online-Plattform zum Thema Handarbeiten, habe ich eine sehr umfangreiche Auswahl an teilweise kostenlosen Anleitungen gefunden. 

On Ravelry I found quite a huge amount of patterns, a lot of them are for free!

Aber trotzdem... irgendwie war nicht die eine Anleitung dabei, die ich nach arbeiten wollte. Also habe ich einige verschiedene Anleitungen gelesen, um grob zu lernen, was man bei so einem Kleidungsstück machen und beachten sollte. Und dann...

But still, I didn´t find exactly what I was looking for, So I read a lot of different patterns to learn, what would be important to know, what would be steps all patterns ask for and what pieces a hoodie must have. And then...

Habe ich einfach mal angefangen und mir alle Schritte notiert, also mache ich Nummer 2´s Jacke nach eigenem Dünken ohne wirkliche Anleitung. Bisher sieht es ganz gut aus und wenn ich es hin bekomme, wird daraus dann auch meine erste eigene Häkel-Anleitung, noch dazu für etwas, von dem ich eigentlich keine Ahnung hatte... bis vor Kurzem :)

I simply started to crochet and to write down each step of my very own pattern. It looks good so far, and if it really works and I find the time to write down everything in an understandable manner, this could become my frist own crochet pattern to publish. Since I never crocheted a jacket before, so we´ll see how it turns out.

Mittlerweile sind alle Einzelteile fertig und müssen noch zusammen genäht werden. Ich hoffe ja, dass ich bis zum Wochenende eine fertige Erstlingsjacke präsentieren kann!

Meanwhile I finished all parts and have to sew them together, so I hope this weekend I will have a finished newborn hoodie to show!
